As a neurocounselor, it’s my job to look at complex neuroscience research (neuro-) and turn it into tools folks can actually use without having to actually do the research (-counselor). I’ll give you an easy-to-understand way to understand the science of stress so you can better understand what’s happening in your body, mind, and relationships when situations trigger your system.

You'll learn the foundation you need to understand how stress actually works:

• Why a self-care practice has nothing to do with stress, and what to do instead
• The difference between stress that resolves and stress that gets stuck to form a trauma response
• Why stress responses that kept you safe as a child might be draining you now
• How your system determines which specific responses activate in different situations

• How neuroplasticity means you can rewire automatic responses through conscious practice

This section bridges complex research with practical application - giving you the "why" behind what you'll learn to do.

Most people think stress responses are limited to fight, flight, and freeze. If you’re lucky, you’ve also heard of fawn, tend, and befriend. 

But through my research, I discovered there are actually 20 distinct stress responses that address different types of responses moving through your system.

Each response has a name starting with F (making them easy to remember) - like FOSTER, FLOWER, and FANTASIZE.

For each of the 20 responses, you'll learn:

• What it does and why it matters
• How it shows up in your body, mind, and relationships
• How to resolve it during every single stressful situation

This is where you learn the twenty stress responses as well as a step-by-step process you can use in every situation to resolve them.  

The Method you’ll learn is a universal process that works whether you're dealing with:

• Workplace pressure and conflict
• Relationship dynamics
• Family stress
• Health anxiety
• Financial worry
• Any other triggering situation

You'll identify one specific stressful situation, then move through two phases:

Phase 1: Surrendering (Steps 1-10) - Release what you cannot control over the situation 

Phase 2: Stabilize (Steps 11-20) - Reclaim control over what you can

Each step includes clear instructions and journaling prompts so you can apply the process immediately to real situations in your life.

This Method is a practical tool that you can use over and over for complete stress resolution that simultaneously prevents and resolves trauma in every Triggering Situation you encounter ever again.
