Podcast Ep. 001: Stress and Trauma in the Year of the Fire Horse
It may seem strange for a trauma expert to comment on the Chinese Zodiac, but hear me out.
On February 17, 2026, we entered the Year of the Fire Horse.
Last year, the Year of the Wood Snake, was all about shedding what no longer serves us. Endings. Loss. Separating.
If your life looked anything like mine, you saw some significant cycles come to a close. Maybe long-standing relationships suddenly became conflicted and dissonant.
Maybe you had to face some of your darker, deeper trauma patterns as they forced themselves to the surface.
And we all definitely witnessed significant, strategic violence at the highest levels of leadership.
In fact, you might still be processing these losses, and that's okay.
Now that we’ve crossed the Chinese New Year, we're entering something totally new.
Imagine a snake in the woods, lying low, shedding its skin slowly and quietly. Now imagine a fiery, beautiful horse running wild and free.
That's what we're moving into.
On that note, I am beyond excited to announce I’ve launched a podcast!
In the first episode of the Gravity Point® Podcast, I walk you through:
-
Why the Chinese zodiac matters (and what cosmic patterns have to do with your stress)
-
What the shift from Wood Snake to Fire Horse really means for you
-
The difference between self-care and self-regulation (and why you need the latter right now)
-
Three practical things you can do to cope with the uncertainty ahead
You don’t need an enormous audience or a political platform to change our world, you just need to regulate your own. And that's what this podcast is here to help you do.
We’re going to have conversations about the immense pressure of being in today’s world and the science that will support you in processing it so that all this stress doesn’t make you sick.
Listen to the full episode on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube.
The first three episodes of the podcast actually dropped today, so you'll receive a newsletter over the next few days connecting you to each episode.
After that, I'll connect with you once a week.
Looking forward to this wild ride with you,
Ashley
